This tuner is an outstanding value. It was designed to tune 6 and 7 string guitars as well as 4-5 and 6 string basses. It has a mic for acoustic instruments and a 1/4" input jack for electrics. Although it's not chromatic it can detect the following notes very accurately: A, B, C, D, E and G, so it can tune the following instruments in addition to it's designed purpose: C tuning uke, baritone uke, 5-string banjo, tenor banjo, bouzouki, cello, cuatro, dulcimer, tenor guitar, mandolin, oud, requinto, viola and violin. Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included)
